Damage History - 2011 tornado damage: The same tornado that hit Sun n Fun caused damage to the aircraft by pushing it back into a boat trailer that was in the hangar, the hangar door also caused damage to the top of the aircraft. American Aviation removed the engine, props, wings, and tail to transport the aircraft for repairs. Upon disassembly, multiple parts were replaced, including bulkhead assemblies, skin panels, and stringers, with new components. Additionally, repairs were made to the aft bottom skin, vertical fin, and cabin top skin using new or fabricated parts. The stabilizers and control surfaces were reinstalled, and all control cables were connected, rigged, and tensioned to ensure proper operation. The wings, ailerons, flaps, and landing gear were also reinstalled with new hardware and checked for proper operation. Complete documentation is in the logbooks and there is a 337 on file with FAA documenting the repairs.
